How we handle information when you use live calling, transcription, and translation features.

01Overview

KiwiTalk is a communication app that helps users place voice calls and view live translated text. We collect and process only the information needed to provide calls, live transcripts, translations, app security, diagnostics, and support.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use call audio, contacts, or transcripts for advertising.

02Information We Collect

  • Account and app identifiers: user identity, session tokens, authentication credentials, and device or app version details required to operate the service.
  • Call information: phone numbers you dial or receive calls from, call status, timestamps, duration, and technical routing data.
  • Audio and speech data: microphone audio during active calls for call connection, live transcription, and translation.
  • Transcripts and translations: text generated from calls and stored in local call history on your device.
  • Contacts: contact information only when you grant permission and use contact-based calling features.
  • Diagnostics and analytics: crash reports, logs, network state, performance data, app screen views, and website page views used to maintain reliability and understand feature usage.

03How We Use Information

  • Connect and manage voice calls.
  • Provide live transcription, translation, and call history.
  • Issue secure communication tokens and protect the service from abuse.
  • Debug failures, monitor availability, and improve call quality.
  • Measure aggregate app and website usage after analytics is enabled and, where applicable, you provide consent.
  • Respond to support, safety, legal, or abuse reports.

04Audio, Calls and Transcripts

KiwiTalk accesses microphone audio only during an active calling or transcription session. Audio may be streamed to our backend and trusted service providers to connect calls and produce live text.

Call history and transcripts are stored on your device. Server systems may temporarily process live session data when needed for delivery, reliability, abuse prevention, or troubleshooting.

Do not use KiwiTalk to record, transcribe, or translate a call unless you have all consents required by the laws applicable to you and all parties on the call.

05Android Permissions

  • Microphone: required for voice calling, speech detection, transcription, and translation.
  • Contacts: used only if you choose to place calls using contacts from your device.
  • Phone call and foreground service: keeps call audio active while a call is in progress.
  • Notifications: shows active call and service status in the notification bar.
  • Bluetooth and audio settings: supports Bluetooth headsets, speakerphone, and audio routing.
  • Biometric: supports local device verification where enabled. Biometric data is handled entirely by Android and is not collected by ClockHash.
  • Internet and network state: connects the app to calling, transcription, translation, and backend services.

06Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase in the Android app and Google Analytics 4 on the website to measure aggregate screen or page views and product usage. We do not send call audio, phone numbers, contacts, transcript content, email addresses, or account identifiers to analytics.

Website analytics does not load unless you choose Allow analytics. Your choice is stored in your browser. Android analytics is controlled by the app release configuration and remains disabled until our privacy and event review is complete.

07Sharing

We share information only as necessary to operate KiwiTalk, comply with law, protect users, or support the service. This may include telecom, cloud, speech recognition, transcription, translation, analytics, security, and infrastructure providers.

These providers are authorized to process information solely for the services they provide to us. We do not sell your personal information.

08Retention

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the app, maintain security and reliability, satisfy legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Call history and transcripts are stored on your device and may remain there until you delete them, clear app storage, or uninstall the app.

09Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect information in transit and at rest. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10Children

KiwiTalk is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

11Your Choices

  • Deny or revoke Android permissions at any time in device Settings.
  • Delete local call history from within the app where available.
  • Uninstall the app to remove all local app data from your device.
  • Contact us to request access, deletion, correction, or export of personal information where required by applicable law.

12Account Deletion

You can delete your KiwiTalk account in the Android app through Profile, Manage account, Security, Delete account. The confirmation step asks you to type DELETE and press Delete account. Deletion removes the Clerk identity and triggers deletion of associated KiwiTalk profile, diagnostic, usage, call-audit, and transcript data. Device-owned call history and account preferences are cleared when the authenticated account ends or changes.

If you cannot access the app, contact privacy@clockhash.com from the email address associated with your KiwiTalk account.

13Policy Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and provide notice where required.
